First United Methodist is pleased to sponsor St. Petersburg’s oldest Scout Troop #236.

Our Boy Scouts camp, canoe, hike, bike, fish, boat, sail, dive, white water raft, swim with manatees, explore caves, climb, rappel, fly in small planes, learn lifesaving and wildlife conservation, meet with government officials, play sports, lead, serve and earn awards. Our troop consistently earns scouting's "Quality Unit Award" and just earned "Best Troop Overall" at district Camporee.

Our troop is focused on creating memorable experiences that promote the development of character, fitness, good citizenship and servant leadership in young men. The eagles and other alumni of 236 include many well-known community leaders and philanthropists.

Boy Scouting is offered to young men ages 11-17. Cub Scouting is offered to elementary school boys. Girl Scouting is also offered for elementary school girls. Contact the church office for more information.
