FUMC Preschool
The preschool at FUMC is a place where children, ages two through five, can learn and play together in a safe, clean and inviting environment. We offer a half-day instructional program from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lunch bunch is available daily from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. and naps are offered from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The program is licensed by the Pinellas County License Board. Our school year begins after Labor Day and continues until the end of May. There is specific curriculum for each age level, with our goal to ensure the children will enter kindergarten well prepared. We are currently part of the state VPK system, which pays for 4-year-olds to attend. We have a staff of 16, most of whom have been here more than ten years. The pre-kindergarten classes receive instruction in language arts and math. We have chapel and music once a week. Our fun holiday celebrations include a Halloween parade, a Thanksgiving feast, a Christmas musical, exchanging valentines and an Easter egg hunt and party. Learning about God and Jesus is an important part of our daily routine. We take advantage of our beautiful downtown setting with walks to the public library and the parks on the waterfront.
