Tiffany Glass - 10 Pictorial Windows

Our Sanctuary features ten pictorial stained glass windows including Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper." Members lead tours each week to share the history and story of these beautiful works of art that enhance our worship experience.

After a recent visit to FUMC, Gary M. Gray, Ed.D., president of the American Consultation on Stained Glass, verified that the George Hardy Payne Studio of Patterson, New Jersey, created our ten pictorial windows using Tiffany glass. Dr. Gray said, "The Payne Studio is considered to be one of the greatest in the history of American stained glass." He said that our windows are very special, and "The Last Supper window is an American treasure." He based this on the Tiffany glass, the Payne Studio's exquisite artistry and the integrity of the re-creation. In 1926, these windows were given to the glory of God in honor of or to memorialize a loved one. God continues to speak to us through them today.

Docent-Led Tours of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper recreated in stained glass are available every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M.  Give yourself, your friends, or club the opportunity to learn the story behind the artist and his Renaissance masterpiece. Special tours may be scheduled by contacting the church office.
